Jonathan Whelan

Jonathan is not just creative and not just technical, he is both, and provides his knowledge of people, process and technology as the Creative Technology Officer for Autism Friendly Dungarvan.

As a late diagnosed neurodivergent adult, in recovery from addiction and diagnosed with ADHD at 39 and Autism at 41, Jonathan brings a unique blend of creativity, curiosity, and lived experience to his role. He has a passion for making technology more accessible and enjoys supporting community projects that help others feel included and understood.

Jonathan’s special interests include creativity, technology and exploring the inner landscape of identity through writing with journaling or poetry as well as learning more about recovery, neurodiversity, and adaptive strategies for daily life. He uses tools like ChatGPT every day to have meaningful conversations, stay organised, and navigate complex tasks with greater ease.

Jonathan believes in the power of community and self-acceptance, and he is committed to helping build spaces where autistic people can thrive as their authentic selves.
