St. Patrick’s Day Parade – Community Autism Champions

We were proud to take part once again in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade under this year’s theme, Community Autism Champions.

We were delighted to be joined by some of our incredible Autism Friendly Champions and friends.

Dungarvan Rugby Club, the first autism friendly sports club in Dungarvan, walked proudly with us, and Waterford Festival of Food continue to lead the way with autism friendly supports that will benefit so many families at next month’s festival.

Our biggest highlight of the day was seeing the children who came to watch and take part. Their confidence, courage, and joy stood out throughout the parade. Days like this show just how powerful inclusion can be when a community comes together and everyone feels they belong.

We were also pleased to provide a relaxed family viewing area at the start of the parade, giving families who may not otherwise have been able to attend the opportunity to be part of the celebrations.

A big thank you to Mike and Anita of Abbeyside Pharmacy for the use of their grounds, to the parade committee, our own committee, volunteers, families, friends, supporters, and My Canine Companion dogs.

Thank you to Mary Balloonatics for the balloons and Mary-Lou for the treats.

Together, we are building a community where autistic individuals and their families feel seen, supported, included, and celebrated — not just on days like this, but every day.
