A Proud Moment for Autism Friendly Dungarvan
We were honoured to meet Uachtarán na hÉireann, Catherine Connolly, during her visit to Waterford, alongside Mayor Seamus Ryan.
Faith and Natalie were proud to represent both of our groups on the day.
Autism Friendly Dungarvan is a community-led, voluntary initiative focused on creating a more inclusive town.
Autism Support Dungarvan provides connection, support, and a real sense of belonging for over 147 families who may often feel isolated.
Autism service dog Alva from My Canine Companion – Autism and Therapy Services was a lovely part of the day and a great talking point. She helped highlight the positive impact service dogs can have in supporting autistic individuals and their families, as well as the ongoing challenges faced by non-funded charities trying to meet growing demand.
A sincere thank you to Waterford PPN for the invitation and the opportunity to represent our community.
We’re proud to continue advocating for greater understanding, inclusion, and awareness as we work together with AsIAm towards our goal of making Dungarvan an Autism Friendly Town, where every autistic individual has the same chance.
