🎉⚽ CONGRATULATIONS ABBEYSIDE FOOTBALL CLUB! ⚽🎊

We are absolutely delighted to officially recognise Abbeyside Football Club as Dungarvan’s FIRST Accredited Autism Friendly Football Club!👏

This accreditation is particularly special because it represents over a year of commitment, learning and hard work from everyone involved at the club.💪

Abbeyside FC didn’t simply complete training, they embraced the whole Autism Friendly initiative and have continually looked at ways they could make their club and events more inclusive and welcoming for autistic children, young people and their families. We look forward to continuing to support their ideas in the future.

Since last year they have:

♾️ Attended our Autism Friendly Champion Training both in person & online.

🎪 Hosted two Family Fun Days, incorporating dedicated sensory-friendly hours & a relaxed space to make the events more accessible

🎃 Hosted a Sensory Friendly Halloween Disco, giving children the opportunity to enjoy Halloween celebrations in a more comfortable and understanding environment

📖 Created Social Stories to help autistic children know what to expect before attending

🫶Continued to listen, learn and make meaningful changes within their club

This is exactly what our Autism Friendly Dungarvan initiative is all about — not just displaying a certificate, but creating real, practical change within our community.🙌

We have seen first hand just how hard Abbeyside Football Club have worked towards achieving this accreditation with Asiam.ie & us, and we are incredibly proud to present them with their certificate today. 🏆♾️
